Rose gold open faced quarter repeater by Le Roy & Fils

A fine English 18 carat rose gold open faced quarter repeating pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement, circa 1815. Gilt brass movement, standing barrel with continuous stop work, English type ruby cylinder escapement, plain three armed gilt balance, parachute on the upper pivot, blued steel flat balance spring, train jeweled to the third wheel, bimetallic compensation curb, repeating on two gongs by two hammers via a pull-and-twist piston in the pendant. Gold hinged cuvette with apertures for the winding and handsetting. Gold dial with champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, engine turned centre and original gold Breguet hands. Case engine turned à grains d’orge to the back, mastermark GFF, polished bezel, engine turned band. Dial and cuvette signed.
