A very fine and thin Swiss platinum and 18 carat yellow gold keyless lever Art Deco dress watch made for Shreve, Crump & Low Co, Boston, Massachusetts, in the 1920s. Nickel-silver movement, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, wolf’s tooth winding. Brushed silver dial with applied white gold Arabic numerals, outer engraved dot minute track, guilloché subsidiary seconds dial, partially replaced white gold cathédrale and spade hands. Solid case, polished, bezel, band and case back with engraved 18 carat gold foliate decorations. Dial, case and movement signed, case and movement numbered. |
