A very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced keyless lever dress watch presented to C.N. Gilmore on March 31st, 1904, circa 1903. Retailed by F.W. Drosten, St. Louis, Missouri. Brushed rhodium plated movement, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette with engraved presentation inscription C.N. Gilmore, from his friends connected with the Terminal Railroad Assn. Of St. Louis Mo., March 31st, 1904. Matte gold dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, engine turned centre and original blued steel Breguet hands. Polished case, the back with an engraved foliate monogram, concealed hinge. Dial signed by retailer, case and movement signed by watchmaker, case numbered.
