A fine, high-grade Swiss 14 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1890. Retailed by L. Varneron, Genève. The jewelled movement exhibits the classic Louis Audemars features of the shepherd’s crook counterpoise and recess in the repeat slide, a gold wheel train, lever escapement. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions with Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade hands. Plain case. Dial signed by the retailer, movement numbered.
