Gold and champlevé enamel open faced watch by Bautte et Ce

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold and champlevé enamel open faced cylinder pocket watch, circa 1825. Matte gilt movement, Lépine calibre, 4 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gold balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette. Silver dial, engine-turned, with eccentric chapter ring, champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and original gold Breguet hands. Scalloped case with twelve lobes, decorated with translucent, red, blue and green enamel vermiculae within white enamel borders, the bezel, pendant and bow decorated to match. Cuvette signed.
