A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced Art Deco keyless dress watch made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1929. Sold on May 11th, 1934. The rhodium plated movement with 18 jewels, stamped with the Seal of the Geneva Quality Mark, wolf’s tooth winding, a straight line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions, blued steel Breguet balance spring and micrometer regulator. A gold hinged cuvette engraved Offert par le Conseil d’État de la République et Canton de Genève. Brushed silver dial with applied gold Arabic Art Deco numerals, outer dot minute indexes, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and original gold Breguet hands. The polished and brushed case with an inclined bezel, rounded band and a back engraved with the arms of the Canton of Geneva. Dial, case, cuvette, and movement signed. Accompanied by the original fitted presentation box, original Certificate of Origin, spare crystal and an Extract from the Archives.
