Gold and enamel watch in the shape of a mandolin

A fine Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel mandolin-form watch with a concealed dial, circa 1890. Gilt brass movement, bar calibre, 8 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gold paillon dot minute divisions and original gold pierced hands. Entirely engraved case, decorated with flowers and foliage in polychrome champlevé enamel, the back centred with a dragonfly, winding crown forming the lower finial, gold suspension chain. Case numbered.
