A very fine and thin Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch presented by philanthropist and author Katrina Trask in 1919, circa 1915. Rhodium-plated movement, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved dedication Dr Merrill from Katrina Trask, August 1919. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, large subsidiary seconds and blued steel spade hands. A polished case, the interior of the back is engraved the present moment is a point in eternity. Dial and case signed, movement signed and numbered.

Katrina Trask, May 30, 1853 – January 8, 1922, also known as Kate Nichols Trask, was an American author and philanthropist. She married Spencer Trask, a prominent Wall Street banker and financier, on November 12, 1874. Her husband was a director of several railroads and the president of the Edison Illuminating Company of New York. He also helped plan and finance the reorganization of the New York Times in 1896.
