Gold enamelled mandolin-form watch

A very fine Austrian 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set mandolin-form watch with concealed dial and visible balance, circa 1810. Matte gilt full plate movement, Ø 22 mm, fuse and chain, a verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, continental balance clock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions and gold spade hands. The mandolin-form fermée type case is attributed to Fres Les Raffard, Geneva, the band is decorated with black champlevé enamel and pearls, the back with translucent royal blue enamel and an enamelled musical score on an engraved gold foliage, the front is overlaid with translucent red enamel and set with pearls, gold strings. Movement signed. Comes with the original chamois-lined morocco fitted box.
