A fine and large Swiss gilt metal, enamel and pearl set open faced center seconds lever pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1880. Gilt movement, Ø 56 mm, a Chinese caliber, ten jewels, steel bridges, steel free standing barrel, a counterpoised lateral lever escapement, three arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. A glazed gilt rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel dial with narrow Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic quarter hour numerals, center seconds and blued steel Chinese hands. The case back with a large polychrome enamel bouquet, pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, reeded band.
The movement is numbered and signed Dimier in Chinese characters, case numbered.
