A very fine and rare, large Swiss silver-gilt, enamel and pearl-set open faced centre seconds lever pocket watch, circa 1860-1880.
The case back with a painted-on enamel scene showing a lakeside landscape inspired by the Geneva Lake with the Chillon castle, a medieval fortress near Montreux, and in the background, the Dents du Midi, a multi-summited mountain situated in the Chablais Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais, both bezels, pendant and bow set with pearls. White enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes and seconds track with Arabic fifteen-minute numerals, centre-seconds hand, and spade hands. Gilded brass Chinese style movement, going barrel, lateral equilibrated lever escapement, blued steel wings balance, key-winding.
