A fine Swiss gilt brass and painted on enamel pocket watch set with pearls, circa 1860. Made for the Chinese market. The backhand is painted with a multi coloured floral decoration on a blue enamel background, and the bezel and bow are set with pearls. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute division with Arabic numerals at a quarter and blued steel clover hands. Gilt Chinese calibre movement, fully engraved and painted blue, standing barrel, swiss lateral lever escapement, counterpoised steel three arm balance, flat hairspring, index regulator.
