Gilt metal repeater decorated with enamel and pearls

A fine and rare Swiss gilt metal, enamel and split pearl set open faced quarter repeating musical cylinder pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Both bezels, pendant and bow are decorated with split pearls, a reeded band, the back cover with painted on enamel bouquet of flowers on a turquoise ground. Glazed gilt  rimmed cuvette.

White enamel dial with narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minutes and seconds divisions, Arabic 15 minute numerals, blued steel Chinese hands. A matte gilt movement, decorated with polychrome enamel flowers, going barrel, cylinder escapement, four arm brass balance with applied steel weights, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, sur plateau musical movement with 22 tuned steel teeth playing on both sides of the pinned disc, playing music on the hour or at will, play and silence levers for the music under the bezel.

The case is slightly rusted, the movement is oxidized and has some scratching. The dial is reprinted.
