Two-colour gold square dress watch by Rolex

A very fine, rare Swiss 18 carat white and yellow gold open faced square keyless lever dress watch, circa 1925-1926. A large-size movement similar to the Observatory-type used by Rolex, lever escapement, timed to six positions for all climates. The silver dial with chased decoration, black Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel Breguet moon hands. Heavy plain square-form case with engraved bezel, Glasgow import marks for 1925-1926. Dial, case and movement signed.

An unusually fine Rolex dress watch of unusual form. The case of two-colour gold is very well constructed and even the ring for the movement is made of solid hallmarked 18 carat gold.
