A fine Swiss silver hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch made for presentation, circa 1900. Retailed by Sigmund Stern, Frankfurt, Germany. Matte gilt dial, 15 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Hinged silver cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds, the centre with a polychrome painted portrait of Ferdinand I and original gold Louis XV hands. Polished case, the front engraved with the cipher of Ferdinand I in Cyrillic beneath a crown. Case and movement punched with the trademark of Sigmund Stern.
