A very fine Swiss 14 carat yellow and white gold open faced keyless lever Art Deco dress watch, made in the 1920s. Frosted gilt movement, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balancespring, swan neck micrometer regulator. Gold hinged gold cuvette. Frosted silver dial with applied gold Arabic numerals, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds dial and original gold cathédrale hands. Case decorated with vertical alternating stripes of white and yellow gold to the back, at the upper edge a chased winged gryphon, reeded bezels, milled bezel and back rim, band chased with a continuous band of berried laurel highlighted with black wax. Dial and movement signed, case numbered.
