Silver technically interesting complicated coach watch
–
A technically interesting coach watch with a double wheel duplex escapement and three complications made by Franz Lehrner in Vienna, Austria, circa 1800. This pair cased watch was crafted from silver. The outer case is covered with shagreen and pierced with sound openings. The inner case has magnificent floral engraving, representing a basket full of flowers, further sound openings and a bell. The dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, a decoratively chased and engraved center, and steel moon hands. The full plate movement is fitted with an unusual duplex escapement featuring a double wheel, steel balance, hour self strike, an hour repeater and alarm.
The movement is signed.
