Silver violin shaped verge watch

An exceptionally large and very rare Austrian silver violin form watch, circa 1800. The hinged case with intricate repoussé work showing a Chinese scene, the inside is gilded, under the front lid a concealed watch. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals and poker & beetle hands, the gold hour hand probably original and the minute hand gilded. A gilt verge movement of very fine quality.
