Hunting cased complicated watch by Louis Audemars made for Breguet

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating perpetual calendar keyless lever watch with moon phases made for the Turkish Market, circa 1881. Sold to Breguet and sold by Breguet to Messr Mir & Cottereau in Istanbul on 29 December 1885. Gilt finished fully jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, quarter repeating on two hammers onto two gongs. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, gilt steel spade hands, four subsidiary dials for month and leap year, day, date, moon phases, lunar calendar and constant seconds. Massive case, covers centred by the engraved initials of the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II to the front and date 1303 AH (1885 AD) to the back, bordered by laurel wreaths, repeating slide in the band. Case stamped ‘LA’, numbered and with casemakers initials ‘MF’ for Meylan Frères, cuvette signed Breguet.
