An exceptional English 18 carat gold open faced center seconds duplex watch with enamel by Jean-François-Victor Dupont made for the Chinese market, circa 1815. Finely chased and engraved floral and scroll decorated gilt finished keywound duplex movement. Finely engraved floral and scroll decorated 14 carat gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, center seconds. Case with polychrome champlevé enamel floral and geometrical decorated bezel, rim, pendant and bow, back decoarted with polychrome enamel scene after John Hoppner’s ‘The Frankland Sisters’, signed Dupont F. 1815. Movement signed Ilbery London 6044.
