A French 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever chronograph watch with two train stoppable jumping center seconds, circa 1895. Mechanical lever movement, 16 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, gold Louis XV hands, black centre seconds hand stoppable by sliding the lever in the band and pushing the crown, time is set by pushing the button at 11 o’clock while winding the crown, outer Arabic five seconds register and subsidiary seconds. Gold cuvette engraved to the front L. Fernier et Fres à Besançon, Paris 1878 Médaille d’Or, Demi-Chronometre. Plain case, hinged back. Case and cuvette signed and numbered, case stamped with case maker’s mark DF, dial signed.
