Silver open faced quarter repeater by Père Bouhelier

A rare and unusual French silver open faced quarter repeating keywound lever watch with special escapement, circa 1810. Unusually shaped gilt finished movement, special polished steel lateral lever escapement with elongated lever arm, the fork engaging a locking pin on the balance pivot, quarter repeating with two steel hammers onto two gongs. Hinged gilt cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals and gilt spade hands. Plain case, quarter repeating pull-twist push piece in the pendant. Cuvette signed and numbered.
