An early Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch, circa 1871. Retailed by N.E. Crittenden & Co., Cleveland. Nickel finished jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf’s tooth winding. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer calibrated minute track with Arabic five minute divisions, sunken constant seconds dial and blued steel hands. Engraved case with Cleveland Ohio inscribed in script intertwined with leave motif, monogram to the front, hinged back. Case and cuvette signed by maker and numbered, cuvette signed by retailer.
