A decorative, remarkable Swiss hunting cased precision pocket watch, circa 1871.
18 Carat gold case, signed Cronometro, Exposition Universelle, Paris 1867 /Girard Perregaux, Chaux de Fonds, with apertures for two integrated hinged mechanisms for bow setting and winding, case maker’s punch mark PMAF, and a lavishly engine-turned inner lid. Signed, chased, silvered dial with applied gold floral ornaments, Roman hours,  subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock, and blued Fleur-de-Lys hands. Rhodium-plated bridge movement, stripe-decorated, with free-sprung blued spherical balance spring, chronometer balance with four screws and two elliptical-shaped gold weights, counterpoised lever, chatoned diamond endstone on balance, and a lever and escape wheel.
