An English 18 carat gold open faced dual time key wind lever captain’s watch made by M.J. Tobias in Liverpool, circa 1860. The gilt finished jewelled lever movement with a three armed balance. A metal cuvette. Engraved gilt face showing various village scenes with three further subsidiary dials for two time zones and subsidiary seconds, and a center sweep hand. An engine turned and engraved case, the back cover with the American eagle and swag reading E Pluribus Unum, a leaf scroll motif to the rim, band and bezel with an engraved scroll motif, a start/stop lever in the band for the center seconds timing hand. Cuvette signed, cuvette and case numbered.
