A Swiss 18 carat three-coloured gold open faced keyless lever watch, circa 1883. Retailed by M. Scooler, New Orleans. Keyless jewelled lever movement. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Small case, bezels and band finely chased and engraved with scroll motifs, the hinged back with chased radial centre to a yellow and white gold scroll border. Movement signed by watchmaker, dial signed by retailer, case, cuvette and movement numbered, case stamped SJ18 and 54.
