An English gilt and tortoiseshell pair cased quarter repeating keywound verge pocket watch made for the Turkish market. circa 1760. Full plate gilt finished verge movement, chain fusée, three arm balance, pierced and engraved balance cock and engraved foot, silvered regulator striking a bell in the case back, metal dust cover. White enamel dial with Turkish numerals, outer minute track and gilt hands. Pierced and engraved inner case, pierced and engraved outer case with tortoiseshell and scalloped edges. Cuvette and dial signed, cuvette numbered.
