Gold-plated pair cased verge pocket watch by Edward Mason
–
A very fine English pair-cased spindle watch with matching chatelaine, circa 1760.
A tortoiseshell outer case and gold-plated inner case with master’s mark TP. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals and probably original steel poker & beetle hands. The movement is signed and numbered, an English spindle mechanism with pre-tensioning through the worm screw. Comes with a fire-gilded chatelaine and a special matching key with a carabiner head, the chatelaine is presumably French.
