Gold-plated pair cased verge watch by Edward Mason

A very fine English pair-cased spindle watch with tortoiseshell decoration and a chatelaine, circa 1760.
The outer case is overlaid with tortoiseshell, the gold-plated inner case with master’s mark TP and decorated with a bird motif. Extremely fine English spindle escapement, pre-tensioning via a worm screw, the plate signed. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals and probably original steel poker & beetle hands.
This watch comes with a fire-gilded chatelaine and special matching key with a carabiner head, the chatelaine is probably French.
