A very fine and rare English gold and painted enamel verge pocket watch, circa 1710.
The watch features a verge movement with a chain/fusee, a three-arm brass balance, a pierced and engraved balance cock. Its gold champlevé dial displays Roman numerals, half-hour indications, Arabic outer numerals, and decorative openwork gold hands. The front and back of the gold case are embellished with polychrome enamel painted scenes, and the two insides also showcase polychrome enamel scenes. The dial bears the signature of Elicot from London.

The watch case may have been decorated by Jean-Pierre Huaud, also known as the younger Huaud, a Swiss artist who lived from 1655 to 1723. Alternatively, it could have been decorated by Ami Huaud, another Swiss artist who lived from 1657 to 1724.
