A beautiful, heavy English 20 varat gold pair cased verge pocket watch featuring date, a quarter repeater and a fine chased and pierced outer case, circa 1710. The movement is signed Richter London on the plate. It features a champlevé, gilded dial with engraved enamelled Roman numerals, a date display by a window at 6 o’clock, a beautifully chased and engraved centre with the signature, and Poker & Beetle hands. The cases are finely chased, engraved and pierced with floral motifs, foliage, and figures on small oval medallions.
