An English gold pair cased repoussé verge pocket watch with 1/8 repeater, circa 1710. One of the earliest known repoussé verge watches.
Two-coloured repoussé pair cases, pink gold and yellow gold; 1st case with a pair of lovers, pierced; 2nd case also pierced, mythical creatures and grotesque faces, bell, original silver dome, English king’s coat of arms. Very early signed Carbrier movement; still without numeration, verge cock with children’s portraits, typical for the time around 1710, repeating hours, quarters and half quarters. Signed gold Champlevé dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and pink gold hands. Movement starts ticking, and some parts of the striking train are missing.
