Decorative 18K gold and enamel open faced quarter repeating à toc verge pocket watch with date, circa 1790.
Round-shaped case, a painted enamel scene on the back cover showing a young man declaiming a love poem to a sweet melody played by a beautiful young woman with the mandolin. White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals, an outer minutes track with fifteen-minute numerals, outermost red Arabic date indication (exterior graduation with central hand) and decorative hands. Gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, key-winding, verge escapement, monometallic balance, blued steel flat hairspring, quarter-repeater à toc activated by depressing the pendant.
