Silver watch with Chinese duplex escapement

A Swiss silver pocket watch with centre seconds, made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. A consular, polished case with a spring loaded glazed cuvette. White enamel dial, narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, Arabic fifteen minute numerals and blued steel ovoid hands. Foliate engraved gilt movement, Chinese Tixier calibre, shaped single wheel bridge, free standing barrel, Jacot type Chinese duplex escapement, three arm monometallic balance with blued steel winged weights, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement and case signed Dimier in Chinese characters.
