A large pocket watch for the Chinese market with mock pendulum, made by Bovet Fleurier SA in Fleurier, Switzerland, circa 1860. The case of this watch was crafted from silver and is hinged, the numbered enamel dial features an outer center seconds, minutes and hour track with Arabic 15 minute numerals and Roman hour numerals and original hands. The numbered Fleurier movement is equipped with a mock pendulum and a lever escapement.
The cuvette and dial are signed with Chinese characters and the movement is signed in Arabic script.
