A Dutch fine silver quarter repeating pair cased verge watch made for the Dutch market, circa 1720, full plate fire gilt verge movement with dust cover, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates, pierced and engraved balance bridge, round pillars, quarter repeating
White enamel dial, Roman numerals and Arabic outer, decorative gilt hands, arcaded chapter ring, plain inner and outer case. Movement and dust cover signed.

Jacobus de Putter was born about 1700 in Amsterdam and had banns posted on 7 June 1720 with Johanna Hubertina Brouwer.
He came from Amsterdam and Johanna from Bergen op Zoom. At the time of the banns, Jacobus lived on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam and Johanna in Den Bosch.
