A very fine, rare, early English silver single-handed pendant watch, circa 1650.
Hinged, round gilt brass full plate movement with primitive tulip pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel two-armed balance without spring, irregular oval foliate pierced and engraved cock secured by a pin, silvered count wheel mounted on the back plate. Signed: Thomas Taylor / Londini. Silver dial engraved with a scene of churches, Roman radial hours, and a blued steel hand. Chased and engraved silver case.
