Pocket watch with beautifully pierced case
–
An early silver pocket watch with alarm on bell, made by S & C Jorce in London, England, circa 1790. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from silver, is beautifully pierced, has a bell but the protective case is missing. The white enamel dial has black Arabic fifteen minutes- and hour numerals, the original gold hour hands and a, later added, minute hand. The extremely unusual numbered caliber of very fine English quality with diamond end stone has a verge escapement and a ring shaped index hand.
The movement is signed.
