A Swiss 18 carat full hunter chronograph with minute repetition, circa 1890. Probably made for the Spanish or South American market. Nickel plated precision anchor movement with 32 jewels, screwed chatons, frosted chronograph parts, short toothed steel anchor and balance weight in the form of insect feelers, gold escapement wheel, bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, minute repetition with two hammers on two gongs, patent mark 16. Jan. (18)88. Cuvette with guilloché rim, engraved: Geneve Repetition A Minutes Chronograph Balancier Compence 32 Rubis Spiral Breguet Ancre ligne Droite. Magnificent champlevé dial, black Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands and decentralized minutes. Massive and heavy guilloché case.
