A rare, English, gentleman’s pocket watch with Massey-Typ-II-lever escapement according to Edward Massey with an original box, circa 1820.
An 18 Carat gold engine-turned case with a reeded band and case maker punch mark EJ. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, and gold spade hands. Keywind, frosted, gilt full plate movement, signed Patent; with chain/fusee, large chatoned jewels Liverpool windows, moulded pillars, Massey-Typ-II-lever escapement, three-arm brass and steel ring balance, fine florally engraved balance cock, engraved regulator scale, and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
