Very rare verge watch for Ottoman market by Edward Prior Hallmarks London, circa 1817. Three cases, original silver transport case, floral decoration, well-preserved paircase in 18k gold, London hallmarks 1817, case punch IR, identical on both cases, outer case engraved with floral decoration, large, high-quality 5-part lateral hinge, second case smooth, beautiful and decorated verge movement with diamond, very fine quality, nice pillars, regulating disc with Ottoman inscription, very good condition, original enamel dial with Ottoman numerals, signed, golden hands, excellent condition of preservation, very rare. Usually the transport cases or protective cases of 3 or 4-part cases are made of metal or covered with tortoiseshell, only the real watch cases are made of silver or gold.
