Gold half hunter with carrousel by Barraud & Lunds

An English 18-carat gold half hunting cased lever pocket watch with carrousel, circa 1896. Gilt three-quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel, unusual richly engraved 52½ minute revolving carriage, engraved cock, compensation balance, freesprung blue steel double overcoil hairspring, English lever escapement. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals and blue steel hands. Plain case with blue enamel chapter ring, monogram on the back cover, and a dedication engraved on the gold cuvette, two fly springs to open the front cover. Maker’s mark JW in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.
