Gold half hunting cased fully functional pocket watch
–
An 18 Carat gold half hunting case pocket watch, crafted by J. W. Benson, the official watchmaker to the British royal family in London, England, circa 1896. The watch features a beautifully preserved white enamel dial, adorned with elegant Roman numerals for the hours and an additional subsidiary dial with Arabic numerals for the seconds. The original steel hands still grace the face of the watch, adding to its authenticity and charm. The movement of the watch boasts a lever escapement with a diamond end stone, which was a hallmark of high end watchmaking at the time. This design feature allowed for greater accuracy and precision in timekeeping, making this watch not only a beautiful piece of art but also a functional and reliable timepiece.
The case, movement and dial are all signed.
