A fine 18 carat gold pocket watch with diamond end stone made by Thos. Johnson, Liverpool, circa 1820.
Four body and bassine case with rope texture band and gilt brass sprung dust cap. Multicoloured gold dial engine-turned with applied polished gold radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute indexes, applied varicoloured gold flower, foliate border and centre and pink gold spade hands.
Frosted gilt movement with full-plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain and maintaining power, lateral lever escapement, three-arm steel balance, blued steel flat balance spring with gilt brass balance cock with engraved decoration, diamond endstone and an index regulator. Movement signed.
