Gold English spring detent chronometer pocket watch

An English spring detent chronometer in a gold open face case, hallmarked Chester circa 1896. Gilt half plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Earnshaw type spring detent chronometer escapement. White enamel dial marked ‘Chronometer’, subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand and gilt hands. Plain 18 carat open face case, gold cuvette with presentation inscription. Maker’s mark ‘JW’ in an oval.
