A fine English 18k gold, enamel and pearl set watch, made for the Chinese market, circa 1819,gilt cylinder movement, the balance cock pierced and engraved with scrolls and trophies, dust cover engraved with foliate scrolls.
White enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds • fluted band, the back with a polychrome enamel burst of summer flowers against a scalloped translucent enamel mustard yellow ground over engine-turning surrounded by rings of white and pale blue opaque enamel, bezel and pendant set with split pearls, movement signed, case stamped with casemaker’s mark LC, the case also hallmarked, London 1819.
