A charming French 18 carat gold, enamel, diamond pendant watch with a gilded brass and enamel chatelaine, circa 1770. A Louis XV case, bezels and border with a band of translucent blue guilloche enamel, reverse with a painted on enamel scene of a shepherd shows a man asking his future father in law for his daughter’s hand, rosette surround. Chatelaine decorated with painted enamel scenes surrounded by blue guilloche enamel floral setting. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals and pierced gold and rosette hands. Frosted gilt, full plate movement, square pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with three arm brass balance and flat balance spring, micrometric potence adjustment, continental pierced foliate balance cock, silver regulator dial.
