A very fine Swiss, 18K yellow gold pocket watch, circa 1875. Made for the South American market. The back with sunburst engraving, vacant shield in the centre, borders engraved with foliage, band chased and engraved in a repeated pattern, gold hinged cuvette engraved with movement details. Champagne dial with applied Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, centre and the outermost in applied gold floral decoration, subsidiary sunk seconds. Pink gold spade hands. A gilt brass movement, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
