A fine Swiss yellow gold open-faced minute repeating watch, circa 1925, manual winding nickel lever movement, repeating on 2 gongs with 2 hammers.
gold dial with painted black Breguet numerals, subsidiary seconds, outer minute track.
polished 18k pink gold case, case back with monogram, hinged cuvette, dial, case, cuvette and movement signed by the maker, cuvette signed by retailer.

Henry Robert Ekegrén (1823-1869) was born in Denmark and does his apprenticeship at Urban Jurgensen and Sonnen in Copenhagen. For one winter he was employed by Jules Jurgensen at Le Locle and then went to London and Paris. In 1847 he worked for a year for Henri Golay in Geneva and then for another ten years for its successor Golay-Leresche. Before founding his own firm in Geneva, he was responsible for Winnerl and Adolph Lange.
