Four colour gold verge pocket watch

A decorative French 18 carat four colour gold and stone set open faced pocket watch made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1770. The gilt full plate verge fusee movement features a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, gilt plain three arm balance with blue steel spiral hairspring and large silver regulator dial. Winding through the signed white enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, outermost Arabic numerals and pierced, stone set hands. The front bezel of the fine case set with a row of clear stones, the back with a scene showing a young lady and a dog in applied, matted, chased and engraved multi colour gold, the arches also stone set.
